Debra Paget is alive and well and

about to turn 90 as of this writing!

DEBRA PAGET (BORN DEBRALEE GRIFFIN) SHE WAS BORN ON AUGUST 19, 1933, IN DENVER, COLORADO.

She’s an American actress and entertainer who is perhaps best known for her performances in Cecil B. DeMille‘s epic The Ten Commandments (1956) and in Elvis Presley‘s film debut, Love Me Tender (1956).

In a 1997 interview, Page said Elvis Presley had developed a deep attraction for her during the production of Love Me Tender (1956). Elvis Presley was completely smitten with Paget. They did date and Presley apparently proposed marriage.

In those days, the studios had enormous power over a star’s personal life and a story was leaked to the press that Paget was involved with the then, ubiquitous Howard Hughes. Hughes was known to be a Hollywood playboy, linked to nearly every young, beautiful starlet between 1940 and 1960.

The story and the studios killed the relationship with Presley and both of them walked away heart broken.

Presley would later go on to marry Priscilla who in my opinion looks a lot like Paget.

PAGET’S MOST POPULAR FILMS

Paget began her acting career at a young age, and throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, she appeared in numerous films, establishing herself as a sexy and popular actress of the time.

Here are three of Debra Paget’s most popular movies:

“Broken Arrow” (1950): In this Western film, directed by Delmer Daves, Paget portrayed the character of Sonseeahray, an Apache woman who falls in love with an American frontiersman.

The film received critical acclaim and was a commercial success.

“The Ten Commandments” (1956): Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, this epic biblical drama featured Paget in the role of Lilia, a young Hebrew woman who falls in love with an Egyptian prince played by John Derek.

“Love Me Tender” (1956): This musical Western marked the film debut of music legend Elvis Presley, and Paget played the female lead, Cathy Reno.

The movie was a commercial success and helped launch Presley’s acting career.

Regarding her personal life, Debra Paget had several relationships and marriages throughout her life.

She was known for her beauty and attracted the attention of many suitors.

Paget married four times.

Her first marriage was to actor and singer David Street in 1958, but the couple divorced a year later.

In 1962, she married director Budd Boetticher, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1963.

Paget’s third marriage was to Louis Kung, a Chinese-American businessman, in 1964.

They had one child together but divorced in 1980. At the time, Kung was part of one of the wealthiest Chinese dynasties in the world.

Her fourth and final marriage was to a businessman named Michael Roman in 1980, and they remained together until his death in 2010. {No Picture Available}
