Birth: Jennifer Jones was born Phylis Lee Isley on March 2, 1919, in Tulsa, Oklahoma

She was the only child of parents who owned a touring theatre company.

When not traveling with her parents, Jennifer grew up and attended school in Tulsa.

Early Career: She began her acting career in New York, where she studied under Lee Strasberg.

At the age of 22, Jones gave an audition in New York City which David Selznick attended. She left the audition in tears thinking it was awful. Selznick liked it and hired her. It took several years, but they would later have an affair and get married.

Marriage to Robert Walker: Jones married actor Robert Walker in 1939

Walker and Jones had two sons together. They BOTH became actors.

The eldest son, Robert Walker Jr. was much more successful in Hollywood than his father.

Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones divorced in 1945.

Before she divorced Robert Walker, Jennifer Jones had a well-documented affair with actor Joseph Cotten, her co-star in the film “Since You Went Away” (1944).

Marriage to David O. Selznick: Jones married film producer David O. Selznick, known for producing “Gone with the Wind,” in 1949. They remained married until Selznick’s death in 1965.

Before she married him, Jones had an affair with the film producer David O. Selznick while he was still married to his first wife. This relationship eventually led to their marriage.

Marriage to Norton Simon. Simon was an American industrialist and philanthropist. They stayed married until his death. Simon had amassed approximately $10 billion by the time of his death in 1993.

Death: Jennifer Jones passed away on December 17, 2009, at the age of 90, in Malibu, California.
